As the Scripture says, it is not possible for a feeble man to comprehend the depth of the wisdom of God. By His infinite wisdom, the Lord brought the Ki family to Australia, to take the place of the Paauwes when Rev. Edward Paauwe was invited to come back to the USA to become the Executive Director of The Independent Board for Presbyterian Foreign Missions. The Kis knew that the Lord had called them into His ministry; thus, He who led them would also enable them to do His work.

The Kis main ministry is to the Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church. They feel very blessed to be ministering to the Hopefuls. Many of the Church members participate in the ministry. The deacons carry many of the responsibilities of the ministry. They lead Saturday Bible studies every other week. They teach the Basic Bible Knowledge classes for newcomers or seekers of truth.

The Lord has blessed the Church with growth. A Ladies Fellowship started about one and half years ago. A men’s fellowship and a teens' ministry were also begun this past September. The young people love and fear the Lord and seek His glory. The choir continues to bless the church members. The Sunday School class has grown this past year as well. Hope Church has about 70 to 80 people who attend on Sundays. About 20 people of the congregation left Australia at the end of last year to go to their home countries for good. The Lord has blessed the Hopefuls, and we thank the Lord for their desire to serve the Lord with their best.

One exciting development in the church is in the area of missions. Hope Church has sent out a number of mission teams to Cambodia. Some teams have taught at Bible schools, local churches, and kindergartens. Some of our talented young people are leading singing, Bible study, and English classes. There are a number of medical professionals who attend Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church. Some of them have gone on these mission trips, and their medical ministry has been greatly appreciated and used of the Lord. They hope to continue to send more teams in the future as the Lord allows. Hope Church supported a retired pastor to go to Cambodia for teaching and preaching to help missionaries. Hope Church also adopted a man as their missionary who has been doing a children’s ministry for a number of years. The Church has raised support for a Bible school graduate from Cambodia to study in Singapore for one year under Dr. Timothy Tow.

The Fundamental Bible College of Australia had five students attend this past semester. Tim hopes to do more for the college this year by offering more courses and establishing a web site.

As the Kis follow the Lord’s will, the Hope Church continues to be their home base, and the Hopefuls are the backbone behind them. The Kis are thankful for the Church’s undiminished support and prayers, and continue to pray for them day and night in love. They also pray that the Lord will give more increase in Hope Church, and that the Hopefuls will be able to do more for the Lord.

Pray for this need and write to us if the Lord is leading you to help in Australia.
